*Receives instructions from General Manager or Operations Manager regarding necessary work
*Documents completed repairs not indicated on original repair estimate and assists in completing applicable supplemental repair estimates
*Responible for quality control inspections on all equipment repaired for customers.
*Operate appropriate powered industrial equipment as necessary
*Responsible for assigning clean up and/or other depot maintenance as necessary
*Understands safety takes precedence over operating productivity at all times
*Initiates and verifies new hires are qualified, and properly trained prior to entering the work force
*Regularly inspects container repair area for safety conditions
*Initiates corrective actions whenever necessary
*Is familiar with all safety policies and procedures, including the company IIPP
*Works with safety coordinator to conduct near miss and incident investigations that occur in their respective area of responsibility
*Is responsible to initiate disciplinary actions where appropriate
*Actively contributes to safety meeting agenda and presentations, in concert with safety coordinator
*Plan and supervise all work so as to prevent injuries and property damage
*Be alert to alcohol and substance abuse effects, as well as illness that may preclude employees from working safely
*Report injuries to the General Manager, Operations Manager, or safety coordinator as is appropriate
*Verify all employees are wearing appropriate PPE at all times
*Inspect tools, such as power tools, jack stands, ladders, hoists, and all such equipment to ensure the equipment is in good working order, and take the initiative to take damaged or inoperable equipment out of service immediately
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualified individual will be able to learn, or already have, the necessary IICL (International Institute of Container Lessors) repair experience. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education
Should be computer literate familiar with Microsoft software
Energetic and customer driven
Good organizational skills
Previous parts experience required
Effective verbal and written communications, with ability to enter data on a computer terminal
Courteous customer communication skills
Excellent people skills are essential
Consistently exhibits satisfactorily levels of performance
Valid drivers license required
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Have flexible availability.
Must be willing to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
Must be willing to obtain a TWIC card
All candidates must pass both a criminal background check and drug test, and possess a valid state driver's license. Previous experience in operating a crane and/or heavy equipment is required.
