We take pride in consistently delivering superior and reliable service, a broad scope of services and an exemplary safety record.  We’re currently seeking a Human Resources Manager.

    The Human Resources Manager is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to multiple sites for both our Rail and Auto business.  The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.  Experience and excitement for leading a large hourly and non-exempt population while serving as a valued business partner is critical to the success of this position. Experience leading large associate populations is very important with a critical eye on improving employee engagement, leadership effectiveness, and enhancing the frontline employee experience is important.

    Responsibilities

    Human Resources Manager

    • Provides strategic Business Partner support to Leadership and Management
    • Partners with leaders to understand the challenges and ensure effective & timely HR support
    • Creates and executes an HR strategy that aligns with regional and organization goals
    • Leads HR investigations and ensure appropriate outcomes and follow-up
    • Serves as a strategic advisor/coach to the leaders & managers in areas of management & development
    • A true hands-on approach, as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees
    • Develops innovative HR solutions & process improvements
    • Partners with the Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence
    • Engages & interacts with a frontline workforce within a Union and Non-Union Environment
    • Creates and driving effective and positive employee relations, retention and reward programs
    • Executes HR and organization strategy in a way that has positive impact on the frontline workforce

    Qualifications

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
    • 7-10 years human resource business partner experience
    • Certifications for Human Resources Professionals (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
    • Demonstrated competencies in broad fields of Human Resources
    • Experience supporting hourly employee client groups with employee populations of 500+ employees
    • Ability to think strategically and anticipate future trends, needs and expectations is required
    • A continuous improvement mindset is required
    • Experience working with Union representatives and facilitating the resolution of labor disputes
    • Strong project management skills
    • The ability to be comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"
    • Experience managing change and uncertainty
    • Demonstrated experience in talent development
    • Experience in labor and employee relations with emphasis on positive employee engagement
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
    • Ability to travel up to 25% (air, car etc)
