General Manager

ConGlobal is North America’s leading operator of intermodal, finished vehicle and depot service terminals.  With operations across the US, Mexico and Costa Rica, ConGlobal is the industry’s go to terminal operations expert.  We take pride in consistently delivering superior and reliable service, a broad scope of services and an exemplary safety record.  We’re currently seeking 2 General Managers to join our AAW team. These will be remote positions- one West Coast and the other Mid-West.  This position will require travel.

The basic purpose of the General Manager is to develop and lead a ramp managers team within their assigned region. 

• Develop & drive terminal strategies through people, process and systems.
• Implement policies, programs and initiatives.
• Drives safety and continuous improvement culture.
• Build collaborative partnerships between Conglobal and local railroad officers.
• Conducts Safety & Terminal Observations and/ or Audits.
• Train and develop of management team.
• Collaborate with safety team to ensure timely reporting and investigation.
• Partner with Ramp Managers to ensure KPIs are met including; Train Performance, Cost per Hour, etc.
• Ensures continued excellence in safety, profitability and service.

• High School diploma required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in intermodal, transportation, logistics or warehousing operations.
• 5+ years Terminal Manager experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and customers is required.
• Working knowledge and experience with lean systems including kaizen events, KPIs and metrics.
• Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.
• Financial management experience (i.e. budgeting, forecasting etc.) preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Web Based Data systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong Work Ethic.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Travel required.
