Responsibilities

Diesel Truck Mechanics, you are responsible for assessing and repairing our fleet of Semi Tractor/Trailers at the Railyard. You will be responsible for Identifying problems with mechanical, hydraulic, diesel & electrical systems and executes solutions. Read & understand hydraulic & electrical schematics. Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines (Cat, Cummins, Detroit). Perform maintenance & mechanical repairs on Hostlers & Forklifts. Maintain routine maintenance schedules on all Tractor Semi/ Trailers.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of Tractor Semi/Trailer repair & Maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel, electrical, cooling, and exhaust systems
  • Able to perform maintenance inspections that include tune-ups, oil changes, and other key services.
  • Able to inspect mileage, belts, flushing fluids, and gasket replacements.
  • Hydraulic and electrical maintenance experience is required
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
  • Owning tools preferred but not required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening
    • The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations. Use of cannabis is strictly prohibited. If applicable for the position you are applying to, and if you are offered the position, you will have to take and pass a drug screen.
