As Depot Operations Manager you will lead all day to day operations of the Depot staff with a focus on safety, performance, & productivity.

 

We are located 295 Thompson Avenue Hiram, Georgia 30141 United States 

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day oversight of employees to ensure a safe and productive workplace 
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements as well as corporate policies and procedures 
  • Monitors operational activities to ensure KPIs are within acceptable standards 
  • Meets customer needs and commitments 
  • Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the operation; production, profitability, safety, and compliance which align with goals for the region and business unit 
  • Monitors performance and provides feedback to employees as needed
  • Maintains and strengthens relationships with existing and potential customers 
  • Works with local Union representatives (if applicable)
  • Other duties as assigned (administrative & non-administrative)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in railyard operations or a related field.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and the MS Office suite of products.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to lead by example.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening
      • The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations. Use of cannabis is strictly prohibited. If applicable for the position you are applying to, and if you are offered the position, you will have to take and pass a drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing railyard operations or similar logistical operations.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and safety protocols.
  • Strong coaching and team development skills.

  • The role involves working outdoors in a railyard environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • The position requires managing operational challenges and overseeing staff in an active and fast-paced setting.
