Overview

ConGlobal is the industry-leading provider of intermodal rail terminal services, auto loading and unloading and container depot services. This role is responsible for the timely and cost-effective strategic sourcing of capital assets, inventory and replacement parts and material across CGL’s business units. This position will manage the Corporate Procurement group and will be responsible for developing and implementing a capital asset budget strategy, capital asset procurement best practices, and sourcing strategy that supports and meets company financial targets, company performance objectives, and business unit expectations.

Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing:


Develop a thorough strategic sourcing plan to drive value across CGL’s business units based on an understanding of business unit needs, the supply market, spend baseline and benchmarking
Perform contract administration and develop a vendor/supplier rating process
Leading the benchmarking and bidding process, negotiating pricing/terms and conditions for contracts and national account agreements and make recommendations to management for vendor selection and contract award.
Research, select, develop and maintain adequate sources of supply across all categories of spend
Assist in the development and execution of capital asset budgets expenditure plans with executive management and business unit leadership
Develop robust, transparent, and timely capital asset procurement procedures
Measure savings and seek opportunities to manage off-contract spend

 

People management


Manage two direct reports in the Corporate Purchasing group
Review performance and help direct reports grow within the group
Interpersonal Relations
Work collaboratively with internal clients to assist in procurement forecasting, demand management, requirements development and identification of possible purchasing channels and sources
Manages Supplier relationships with key vendors and coordinate purchasing on a centralized and local basis to drive cost savings without sacrificing quality

 

KPI Accountabilities:


Responsible for over $100 million in annual expenditure.
Develop business KPIs and procedures to support the procurement and sourcing function at ConGlobal.
Accountable for budgeting and meeting the budgets with proven savings

 

Delegation of Authority:


Responsible for assigning and dividing duties among the group fairly, efficiently, and effectively to yield best outcomes

Qualifications

Required:

 

Deep understanding of concepts of supply chain and impact of sourcing to all cost drivers in supply chain.
Deep knowledge of industry best-practices in strategic sourcing methodology and approach combined with pragmatism and ability to apply situation specific approaches (“Time is Money”)-Excellent negotiating skills with the ability to drive the lowest total cost of ownership
Effective time management skills and the ability to organize and direct the quality of his/her work amidst the demands of multiple projects and demanding clients
Strong knowledge of contract fundamentals, ability to effectively interact with CGL’s legal counsel
Excellent quantitative skills and technical aptitude: fluency in MS Excel, Word mandatory;
Proven organizational and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and oral communications skills, including ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to senior management of CGL

 

Qualifications

 

Required: Minimum 15 Years in management of procurement/strategic sourcing services role

Preferred: Access, PowerPoint, NetSuite, management experience in logistics environment
