Overview

We’re currently seeking a high performing salesperson in Portland to join our team. ConGlobal provides intermodal depot services in the US, operating at both depots and marine terminals. We take pride in consistently delivering superior and reliable service to a wide range of customers, a broad scope of services, and an exemplary safety record. The Salesperson works directly with the Depot Management and the commercial sales team to develop and execute the sale of new and used containers, modified containers, container and chassis leasing, while managing inventory through strategic purchases. The successful candidate will work with the customer to ensure all orders are processed in a timely manner. Other responsibilities include: maintaining itineraries and scheduling appointments, responding to inquiries and performing quote follow-ups, assisting with customer service issues, and providing timely updates on orders. This position is an important role which can be an extremely challenging and rewarding position. Compensation offering for this role is a base salary (listed) annually plus commission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales/marketing opportunities in the assigned territory
  • Support all sales and leasing activities
  • Assist with walk-in customers by showing available inventories
  • Provide quotes to customer inquiries from web sites, phone calls and walk-ins
  • Manage equipment deliveries to customer sites
  • Work with the shop/yard to confirm container availability and order progress
  • Complete data entry for quotes, orders, purchases, and invoicing
  • Ensure payment is received for all sales and leasing activities
  • Work closely with Depot management to handle special projects and develop pricing for container modifications
  • Attend industry functions to improve business strategy and build relationships.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • Min 3 years of professional sales experience
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently
  • Professional phone skills
  • Proficient in Outlook & MS Office suite of products
  • Good communicator. Treats others with respect
  • Knowledge of NetSuite CRM software preferred
  • An interest in international trade or global shipping industry
