💲 Starting Pay: $65,000 – $74,000/year
🕐 Status: Full-Time | Immediate Hire

🕔 Schedule: Open availability required, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

 

Responsibilities

The Railyard Ramp Supervisor will be responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the terminal staff, ensuring a focus on safety, performance, and productivity. The role includes managing ramp crew movements, meeting customer scheduling requirements (both Inbound ETN and Outbound/Release), and ensuring the smooth operation of the terminal. The supervisor will also play a key role in problem-solving, safety enforcement, and staff engagement, contributing to the efficiency and success of the terminal’s operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Terminal Staff: Lead the day-to-day operations of ramp crews, ensuring efficient and safe movement of personnel and equipment.

  • Meet Scheduling Requirements: Ensure timely and accurate handling of Inbound (ETN) and Outbound/Release operations, meeting customer scheduling requirements.

  • Train and Develop Staff: Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to ramp staff to ensure they possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform their duties safely and efficiently.

  • Safety and Compliance: Perform regular safety audits and observations. Enforce all ConGlobal rules, regulations, and policies, and handle safety violations with care by offering on-the-spot coaching.

  • Problem-Solving: Identify and address any situations that require problem-solving to maintain a smooth and efficient flow within the terminal.

  • Train and Verify Numbers: Check and verify the numbers on all inbound and outbound trains to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.

  • Enhance Employee Engagement: Foster positive interactions with terminal staff to increase engagement, satisfaction, and retention.

  • Administrative Duties: Perform necessary administrative tasks as required to support operational functions.

  • Other Duties: Perform other administrative and non-administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a railyard or terminal environment.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team and facilitate operational efficiency.

  • Demonstrated experience in safety protocols, compliance, and enforcement within a terminal or industrial environment.

  • Ability to problem-solve in real-time and prioritize tasks to maintain smooth operations.

  • Familiarity with railroad operationsramp crew movements, and scheduling requirements for inbound/outbound shipments.

  • Open availability required, including the ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (Texas Two Step) and alternating between day and night shifts.
  • Facility operates 24/7, so weekend and holiday shifts are required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening
      • The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations. Use of cannabis is strictly prohibited. If applicable for the position you are applying to, and if you are offered the position, you will have to take and pass a drug screen. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in rail yard operations or ramp supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and safety compliance standards in terminal operations.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while ensuring safety and efficiency.
