As a Business Analyst at ConGlobal, you will play a key role in driving business improvements by analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs, develop solutions, and implement strategies that enhance operational efficiency and support business objectives.

Responsibilities

Pricing:

  • Model and price railroad terminal operations, warehouse yard management, and/or depot storage and operation opportunities.
  • Monitor monthly results as compared to bid model and make recommendations for improvement of the operation and/or bid model.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance.
  • Conduct trend analysis to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis as requested by Operational or other leaders.

Budget Formulation, Monitoring, and Presenting:

  • Create yearly budget templates for each assigned location and evaluate key drivers based on macro and microeconomic factors.
  • Monitor performance vs. budget and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Create presentations for board of directors and other stakeholders.

Business Process Improvement:

  • Evaluate current business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and develop business cases for proposed solutions.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and updates effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of increasing experience in business administration, finance, marketing/sales, or similar business operations role required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, presentation software such as Powerpoint, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • This is a hybrid position in Detroit, MI. Travel requirements for this role are minimal (less than 25%).  Time in the office is expected to be 4-5 days/week during the ramp up and learning phase and then shift to 3-4 days/week thereafter or as required by the Group Vice President of Intermodal.
