Overview

The world depends on logistics—but most of it still happens out of sight. We, here at Aviro360, are changing that. Our proprietary Yard Visibility System (YVS) combines AI and computer vision to turn the world’s hardest-to-see logistics yard operations into automation our customers can safely rely on. We believe clarity drives progress—for operators, customers, and the global supply chain.

At Aviro360, you will join a team that experiments boldly, executes with discipline, and builds technology that helps our customers operate their yards intelligently.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will own the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines for our IoT-enabled AI platform—spanning AI-driven software, connected devices, and operational automation. This role will ensure reliable, scalable, and secure operations that bridge hardware innovation with software intelligence, delivering measurable value to enterprise logistics, industrial, and mobility customers. This position collaborates closely with Software Engineering, Integration, and Product teams, and reports directly to the Director of Product Development.

This full-time role is based in Odessa, FL or Chicago, IL, with remote work possible.

Responsibilities

  1. Infrastructure & Automation Strategy
  • Design and implement scalable, resilient cloud architectures using AWS, with a focus on best practices for security, compliance, cost optimization, and high availability.
  • Lead the management and orchestration of containerized applications using Kubernetes, including cluster setup, scaling, and monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CDK to automate provisioning and configuration management.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Champion the evolution from manual processes to automated, self-healing systems that support our platform's growth and category leadership, with an emphasis on security compliance (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA where applicable).
  • Prioritize initiatives based on operational impact, scalability, and alignment with business goals like uptime, deployment velocity, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure disciplined release management and tight coordination between hardware engineering, software development, and field deployment.
  1. Operational Excellence and Collaboration
  • Support enterprise customer engagements, infrastructure audits, and deployments—translating operational insights into infrastructure improvements, including security enhancements.
  • Align DevOps practices with commercial objectives, such as reducing downtime, improving deployment frequency, ensuring compliance, and enabling ARR growth through reliable platform performance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success teams to deliver seamless end-to-end operational experiences.
  • Define and track key metrics: infrastructure uptime, deployment success rates, cost efficiency, compliance adherence, and ROI for automation initiatives.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes while maintaining accountability for infrastructure costs and efficiency.
  • Help optimize resource allocation across cloud and on-premise environments for scalability and margin improvement.
  1. Cross-Functional Leadership and Execution
  • Lead DevOps processes and practices in alignment with strategic and commercial objectives, including security and compliance standards.
  • Partner with Executive Leadership, Hardware Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Customer Success functions to ensure robust, integrated systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a high-performing DevOps culture, including knowledge sharing on tools and best practices.
  • Lead discussions on infrastructure strategy and synthesize input from stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on DevOps roadmap, performance, and improvements.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles, with at least 3 years in a senior capacity.
  • Deep expertise in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS) and Kubernetes for orchestrating complex, distributed systems.
  • Proven experience with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline).
  • Strong advocate of Agile/DevOps methodologies with a deep understanding of end-to-end infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Experience with edge devices, IoT, or AI/Computer Vision platforms in cloud environments.
  • Nice-to-have: Proficiency in GitOps practices (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux), Amazon EKS, Bitbucket for version control, Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence for collaboration, SageMaker for MLOps, Bitbucket Pipelines, and AWS IoT Greengrass for hardware/IoT integrations.
  • Background in supply chain, industrial automation, logistics technology, or mobility infrastructure preferred.
  • Strategic, analytical thinker with a methodical approach to troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Deep empathy for engineering teams and end-users—can translate operational complexity into automated, efficient workflows.
  • Demonstrates technical acumen; data-driven, operationally minded, and fluent in cloud architecture.
  • Thrives in high-growth, entrepreneurial environments and can balance innovation with reliability.
